“Because I’m after life-change, not a new hairdo” Wow, well said Cherie! I could put so many things in place of “a new hairdo” and this year I will. Thanks for the challenge of going deeper.
I know what the bible says about the outward appearance vs. lasting beauty, and I love what you’ve written, BUT, as a woman who was (and still struggle to not be) very much of this world and into her outward appearance, it might sound to some readers like you’re saying it’s ok to let the outside go to pot in effort of putting total focus of renewal of your mind and spirit through reading the Word.
I know this is not what you mean. What I’ve written is extreme. You’re talking hairdos and clothes and I’m kind of referring to health and weight.
If I look around at the women (and men) in church and bible studies, many are obese. This is sin our church mostly ignores and doesn’t address.
Thanks for the post.
Love you and your ministry.
Hi Shannon! You are right, that isn’t what I meant, but you make a very good and necessary point. The emphasis should be on the inward, and when that is in the right place, the disciplines of the outward should follow in appropriate measure. Does that make sense? Thanks for reading!
