“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1
With Easter just a few weeks away, the cross has been at the forefront of my mind. The Passion of the Christ has been flooding my thoughts as I think about what Christians are about to celebrate come Easter Sunday. Jesus in my place…the Gospel in four words. Christ died on the cross to purchase my freedom, your freedom. He then rose from the grave, conquering sin and death, and set us free! It is for freedom that Christ has set us free! Are you as excited as I am about that?
If there has been one thing that has motivated me to continue sharing the love of Jesus Christ, it has been for freedom. I’m beyond eager to see God’s children walking in the freedom that Christ died to give us. But so many are not. So many live bound…by addiction, fear, oppression, unbelief, pride, idolatry, deception, guilt, shame, depression…and the list could continue on. Perhaps, we need a reminder today.
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1
You’ve been set free. Start living like it! Free from the strongholds that entangle us and keep us ineffective members of God’s Kingdom here on this earth. Get on your knees today, and join me in prayer for freedom in Jesus’ name! Let’s start praying and believing God for our own freedom so that we can be Christ’s ambassadors to a world that desperately needs freedom.
Father God,
1. Forgive me for so often returning to the very things that once enslaved me, even after you have extended freedom to me. Help me to cling to the freedom that I have in you, Jesus, and not to the fleeting pleasures around me.
2. Thank you for giving me a firm foundation to stand upon in Your Word. The more I seek you, the more I find you. The more I find you, the more I’m captivated by your love for me. And that is where freedom is found – in Your love.
3. Open up my eyes and reveal to me anything that is keeping me from victory and freedom. No matter how great my desire for something, there is nothing that could satisfy me more than you, Jesus.
4. As I walk in the freedom that you died to give me, Jesus, may I bring your freedom to the world around me that is in desperate need of it.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Wow…this is awesome! I am loving your posts, it is a God skill for sure. I have been praying the word for my friends who are addicts…it can get discouraging, however, read your post and felt a new boldness to keep praying for them …and to see them go free!
