You’ve heard me say it before, and I’ll continue to say it again and again. I long to be a woman who is found on her knees at the feet of Jesus in passionate pursuit of Him. That is my only aim. There is nothing that this world has to offer that could satisfy the way that only Jesus can. As I’ve walked with the Lord, it has become increasingly clear to me that there are certain things that draw me closer in my pursuit of Christ. Likewise, there are certain things that deter me from my pursuit, things that pull me back and send me in the opposite direction. Call me someone who has had to learn things the hard way, but once the hard lesson is learned, I don’t want to have to learn it again.
One thing in particular that I’ve found increases my passion for Christ is Christian music. Music plays such a large role in our lives, and despite what anyone will tell you, the words you listen to over and over again have a significant influence on you. That is why I have grown such a deep love for Christian music. Songs that point our focus and affections towards Christ and the truth in His Word are to be treasured by God’s people. More than any other means aside from Scripture itself, God has used Christian music in my life to draw me close to Himself. Oh, how I wish I could sing beautifully like some of my favorite Christian artists, but the truth is that when I sing God’s truth back to Him with a heart of praise, it is a sweet sound in His ear.
Christian music, worship music in particular, has changed my life. I’m thrilled when a Christian artist releases a new album on iTunes. I’m usually buying it the same day. Today, however stands alone. The excitement that I have for the album release today is simply unparalleled. My favorite Christian artist, who also happens to be my best friend, releases her debut album today titled “If It Leads Me Back”. For the past ten years of our friendship, God has used her music to minister deeply to my heart. I have often used it in my own teaching to minister to as many women as I can. Lindsay McCaul writes with passion and conviction, and each song is inspired directly from Scripture. “Rarely has an artist wielded that power with more thoughtful precision. Blessed with a caring heart and a deep intellect, McCaul has a gift for writing songs that strengthen and encourage by reminding us of God’s grace and faithfulness.”
The hours I have spent at the feet of Jesus while worshiping to her album are numerous. I cannot recommend this album to you more! I have yet to share one of her songs with someone who wasn’t incredibly blessed by them. This album is a must buy! I guarantee that this purchase will be a rich investment in your pursuit of Jesus Christ. As we together seek to become women who are found on our knees, we become worshipers. And worship you will most certainly experience while listening to her new album. Trust me. Buy it, and spend time delighting in the presence of the Lord as He speaks to your heart through hers.
