How did week 1 go?!?! Last Wednesday, you were given the challenge to memorize Hosea 6:1…well, did you do it? I just finished teaching week 1 of “Found On My Knees” tonight to an incredible group of ladies, and the passage we studied was Hosea 6:1-3, so this verse is very fresh in my mind and in my heart. I hope that as you spent time meditating on this verse and committing it to memory that the Lord revealed Himself to you in a new way and that you now have a better understanding of His incredible promises that He willingly extends toward you if you would but return to Him. I so love taking this challenge with you! Numerous times throughout this past week, I found myself on the page of Hosea 6, repeating this verse out loud again and again until I could recite it from memory. I hope you did the same!
Now, we begin week 2 of our Scripture Memory Challenge! Who’s still with me?
“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7
Who needs to hear this word today? Who needs the reminder that even in the midst of your anxiety, worry, stress, and fear, God cares for you. He inclines His ear to your desperate cry for help. He is ready to replace your fear with faith. He wants to take the burden of your pain off of your shoulders and carry the weight of it all for you. He wants you to experience the freedom that humility brings. He takes great delight in you, dear sister, and He desires the absolute best for you. Every command that He gives us is intended to draw us closer to Him, and as we choose obedience over self, we find ourselves exactly where we should be – in His embrace.
I hope you take this challenge with me and commit to memory these two verses this week. Be reminded today that the God of all creation cares about you. You are the object of His affection.
