“He is the Rock, His works are perfect, and all His ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He.” Deuteronomy 32:4
When we forget who God says He is in His Word, we forget the power we have access to in the midst of every circumstance that we face, and in that, our hope fades. I was driving home tonight in the middle of a lightning storm that lit up the sky like the Fourth of July. As I drove with the windows down and an enormous amount on my mind, the words of this song blaring through my speakers quieted my raging thoughts and focused me back on one simple truth.
The Rock won’t move.
When the ground beneath my feet gives way
And I hear the sound of crashing waves
All my world is washing out to sea.
I’m hidden safe in the God who never moves
Holding fast to the promise of Your truth
You are holding tighter still to me.
Oh, the Rock won’t move and His Word is strong
The Rock won’t move and His love can’t be undone.
The Rock of our Salvation
When on Christ the solid rock I stand, I won’t be moved because the Rock won’t move. He is my security. He is my hope and stay. When everything around me seems to shift, shake, and crumble to the ground, my faith will always rest in the solid Rock on which I stand, Jesus Christ. I choose to believe that when all seems to fail, I am hidden safe in the promise of His love. This is our God.
I believe that there is tremendous power unleashed when we speak God’s truth over our circumstances. Our faith increases, and our perspective changes. Our circumstance may remain, but our God is not moved by it. He is greater. So, I invite you to join me in a moment of worship. Pause whatever else you’re doing, and take a minute to remember who God is – the Rock that will not be moved. He is your firm foundation.
Just last week, Vertical Church Band released their second full-length worship album titled “The Rock Won’t Move.” Every song is incredible, but today, I invite you to listen to just this one. Click on the link below and take a few minutes to join in the song of heaven and earth as we praise our God, the Rock Eternal who will not be shaken.

Amazing song! Thank you for posting, this is such an encouraging post for when we are dragged down by our earthly problems. But the Rock won’t move!
