“The LORD will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.” Isaiah 58:11
Can I just shout out with joy and say, “We did it!” Well, almost. We have made it to the sixth and final week in our Scripture memorization, and I just have to tell you that I have flat out loved this journey that we’ve been on together! I love memorizing God’s Word, and my prayer for each of you that took the challenge to join me in this has been that you have grown to love it too. God’s Word is life to us, it is the air that we breathe, and it brings freedom. God’s truth sets us free from any and every thing that would seek to keep us in bondage. Do we understand that? Do we really grasp the weight of that? The Word of God has all the power to set us free from every sin, every chain, every bit of brokenness that we can’t seem to shake. I hope you have experienced some freedom in your life over these past five weeks together, because we have committed some powerful words of truth to memory, and may those words ever be engraved in our minds and written on our hearts.
Anyone else want to take a glance back on where we’ve been together? I know I do! Let’s refresh our minds on the past five weeks of Scripture memory that we’ve done through the themes of brokenness, surrender, trust, faith, obedience, and the icing on the cake for this week, blessing.
Week 1 – “Come, let us return to the LORD. He has torn us to pieces, but He will heal us; He has injured us, but He will bind up our wounds.” Hosea 6:1 (Brokenness)
Week 2 – “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7 (Surrender)
Week 3 – “You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3 (Trust)
Week 4 – “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that he exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6 (Faith)
Week 5 – “The LORD will establish you as His holy people, as He promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the LORD your God and walk in His ways.” Deuteronomy 28:9 (Obedience)
Well, I don’t know about you, but just glancing over those five verses send goose bumps up and down my body, holy goose bumps! What a thrill it has been to commit these truths to memory, and all the while our Heavenly Father has a smile on His face as He transforms our minds in the process. Well, here we go with week 6. Our journey from brokenness to blessing wraps itself up with this final verse. I do pray that God washes His blessing over your heart in this moment and continues to reveal Himself to you throughout this next week as you choose, in faith, to be found on your knees at the feet of Jesus in passionate pursuit of Him.
Week 6 – “The LORD will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.” Isaiah 58:11 (Blessing)
