“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19
The last two nights have left me in a place of overwhelming joy. My cup is gushing over. I can hardly contain myself. I’m near giddy, seriously. Why, you ask? Let me tell you. Because I have witnessed firsthand the power that God’s Word has on people when they choose to expose themselves to it. Yep, that is why, my friends. I have seen it with my own two eyes, and no doubter or skeptic or critic could ever convince me otherwise.
God’s Word changes people.
God’s Word changed me.
Because of this, I can’t keep silent. I can’t hold it back. I want to shout it from the rooftops that hope is found in one name. Life is found in one name. Freedom is found in one name.
The name of Jesus.
As I stood before a few hundred women over the past few days and directed their gaze back to the promises found within God’s Word, I witnessed transformation right in front of my eyes. Perhaps, you and I just need a reminder from time to time. Perhaps we have forgotten what His Word declares. Or maybe we never knew. But here it is:
God has made us some promises. And God always keeps His promises.
Did you need to hear that? Did you need to be reminded of it as much as I do? Read Isaiah 43:19 again. Go ahead, do it. What is it saying? God promises to bring guidance and refreshment to us when we find ourselves lost in the wastelands of life. Anyone in need of either today? That’s what I thought. His promise stands true. He will not forsake His Word. So, what is our part in this equation?
Look to Him. Run to Him. Return to Him. Recognize Him. He hasn’t left you. You may have wandered away from Him, but He has not once left your side. The moment we turn our gaze back to Him, the moment that we return to Him, the moment that we give up control…
…a way in the wilderness is illuminated before us, and streams in the wasteland are made available to us. Look to Him, today. In your wasteland, in your desert, in your dry and weary place, come to Him and be found at His feet. You need wander no further.
