“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that he exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”
Hebrews 11:6
For those of you who are still with me in this challenge, I just want to shout for joy alongside of you as you’ve been working so hard to commit these verses to memory! God is good isn’t He? And we come to realize just how good when we meditate on and memorize His Word. His truth satisfies the hungriest of hearts and thirstiest of souls! For those of you just joining us, the challenge is a verse a week. We’re choosing to memorize 6 verses over the course of 6 weeks in conjunction with my Bible study, Found On My Knees. There are lots of ladies working through these very verses with you, so be encouraged. You are not alone in this! I do hope you are enjoying the ride.
Just to quickly review where we’ve been, week one’s verse was??
“Come, let us return to the LORD. He has torn us to pieces but He will heal us; He has injured us but He will bind up our wounds.” Hosea 6:1
Week two’s verse…anybody??
“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7
And week three’s verse…who is still with me??
“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3
Ladies, we are on a roll! Don’t worry if you are just joining us now. Jump right in! Choose to commit these verses to memory, and in doing so, your mind will be transformed by God’s truth. I’m just curious if there’s anyone out there that has ever believed a lie? Just me? I didn’t think so. Some of us have allowed lies to shape us and determine our identities for a long time. It’s time to take captive our thoughts and make them obedient to Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 10:5), amen? The best way I’ve found to destroy the lies I have believed is to replace them with the truth – more specifically, the truth of God’s Word. That’s why we’re taking this challenge. It’s not to puff ourselves up with pride as we accomplish this task of memorization. It’s to obtain the mind of Christ in all matters! That is our goal. So, join me as we move to week 4, and let’s commit God’s Word to memory together.
Week 4:
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that he exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6
