“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” Matthew 6:25-26
One of my favorite songs has always been “His Eye Is On The Sparrow”. Have you ever heard it? The words of that song ring so true in my ears as I listen to it time and time again. Simple put, our heavenly Father watches over even the birds of the air, the sparrow. How much more aware is He of us as His children? Therefore, why spend my time being anxious about tomorrow when I can be assured that He is watching over me? Consider the birds. Then consider His ever-loving and watchful care of you.
You can imagine how delighted I was to find a new version of this song sung by an incredibly talented Christian artist, Audrey Assad. She took this old hymn and gave it a modern twist with her wistful vocals. She is one that you need to add to your music library. I have been so blessed by her songs, and I’m excited to share this one with you today. Do yourself a favor and take the next four minutes to watch this video of her singing her version of “Sparrow”. Take a moment out of your busy day to just worship along with her as she leads you in this song. Then, get to iTunes as fast as you can and purchase some of her music. You will not be disappointed!
